Oxygen-Ozone therapy,
Interventional with intraforaminal technique

Treatment with intraforaminal Oxygen-Ozone mixture involves the use of a Brilliance Amplifier or CT scan for precise placement of the needle end at the exit point of the inflamed nerve from the spinal canal. The treatment is performed after thorough skin disinfection, followed by local anesthesia. It is rarely painful for the patient.

This technique represents the evolution and refinement of classic paravertebral administrations. Ozone arrives exactly on the nerve roots suffering from the hernia or protrusion. The use of radiological equipment allows continuous verification of the accuracy of the method.

The technique turns out to be important for several reasons:

• The faster resolution of the pain picture.
• Ozone administration in the most immediate vicinity of both the nerve and the spinal ganglion, another anatomical structure involved in the genesis of disc compression pain.
• The ability to radiologically treat and document Oxygen-Ozone diffusion while avoiding any complications.
• Performing accurate administrations even in regions subverted by the presence of scars due to previous surgery (e.g., at the site of residual postoperative pain).
  Usually 4-5 infiltrations are performed at one- to two-week intervals, or an initial intraforaminal infiltration is performed followed by a classic paravertebral infiltrative cycle. Resolution rates of the painful picture reach 80% positive results.
