Specialist in Pneumology
Graduating in Medicine with honors in October 1999 from the University of Brescia, Dr. Michela Bezzi continued her studies with a specialization in Respiratory Tract Diseases at the University of Brescia with a score of 50/50 cum laude.
After taking part in multiple ERS training fellowships, he participated in a PhD in Clinical Sciences at the University of Florence with a project entitled MICROWAVE ABLATION OF MALIGNANT CENTRAL AIRWAY STENOSES.
Since July 1, 2015, he has been directing a complex d Interventional Pneumology facility, personally performing diagnostic flexible bronchoscopy and therapeutic rigid bronchoscopy as a single operator or as part of a team.
In the field of therapeutic rigid bronchoscopy, he has also implemented methods such as:
- Bronchial thermoplasty for severe asthma (47 procedures to date)
- Transbronchial cryobiopsy for the diagnosis of interstitial lung disease
- The various endoscopic emphysema therapies (EBV or IBV endobronchial valves, LVR-COILS, Aeriseal polymeric foams)
- more than 400 procedures as part of international clinical trials and in clinical routine with specific company PDTAs c/o AO Spedali Civili Brescia AOU Careggi Florence
In addition to boasting numerous scientific publications, Dr. Bezzi has participated as a speaker at annual conferences of leading international scientific societies.
